Be Dull to Disappointment and Live in Expectation

Isaiah 36:18 Beware lest Hezekiah persuade you, saying, “The LORD will deliver us.” Has any one of the gods of the nations delivered its land from the hand of the king of Assyria?

The enemy will try to distract your expectations through the disappointments and defeats of others, or those of your past. Our book of disappointments cannot be a bigger book than the open appoint book of our unfolding season of life. Fresh appointments cannot be written in a book that is cluttered with the disappointments of the past. Whatever has or hasn’t worked in the past cannot hinder what God is about to do. Many times our view of disappointment is simply our perceived view of how things have been. The enemy wants to remind us of our seemingly failed moments in life. If we are stuck in the bitterness of some disappointment it will prevent us from staying in God’s presence. It will resist our spiritual growth, our expectance, our receptiveness, and our security in God.
